The Seventh Doctor

Mel was still the companion of the Doctor when the TARDIS made a particularly bad landing when it was dragged off course by the Rani's experiments causing his Sixth incarnation to regenerate. She finally left the Doctor when they arrived on Ice World and met up with Sabalom Glitz once more, deciding to travel with Sabalom rather than this new incarnation of the Doctor.
Ace (Dorothy) joined the Doctor on Iceworld after she had helped the Doctor and Mel defeat Kane in his attempt to recover the 'Dragonfire'. Originally from Twentieth Century Perivale, Ace was caught up in a time storm that landed her on Iceworld where she earned her way by waiting on tables. She had an understanding of chemical explosives that was quite impressive. Ace was the most equal of the Doctor's companions in the original series and rarely acted as as the typical bimbo. She and the Doctor visited several locations that were influential in her life. They also traveled to 1963, back to the scrap yard where Barbara and Ian first met the Doctor, though a few weeks later. Ace was the last Companion of the Doctor to appear on screen leaving him temporarily in the New Adventure story set on the planet of Heaven when she is replaced by Professor Bernice Summerfield, preferred name Benny. After a spell in the Auxiliary Forces arm of Space Fleet, she rejoined the Doctor and Benny later on.
Bernice (Benny) Summerfield claims a doctorate in archaeology enabling her to get on a number of digs throughout human space in the aftermath of the Human/Dalek wars. She viewed the opportunity of traveling with the Doctor as a chance to see history as it was made rather than actually going about digging it up. She finally tired of the peripatetic lifestyle and now occupies the Chair of Archaeology at the University of Dellah.
Roz Forrester and Chris Cwej were a pair of Adjudicators from the 30th Century. Roz had finked on her former partner when he was caught on the take, not caring that most of the other Adjudicators were also on the take. Dumped to patrol the meanest of mean beats in the Earth Empire - Earth's Undercity, Roz was partnered with Chris as her squire and they were doing their best to hold civilisation together when they met the Doctor and Benny. Finding that corruption ran far and deep in Earth's government, they fled with the Doctor and Bennie - it was that or die. As a daughter of the penultimate Terran Empress, Roz died when leading an assault on rebels within the Empire. Chris left to become the head of the Guild of Adjudicators holding the post in charge from the last Empress. After this, the Adjudicator's Guild became a quasi religious order owing allegiance to no particular successor government.
