The twenty first century was well started and it appeared to be an era of peace. Well, relatively any way

Europe and America were rich and armed to the teeth and direct confrontation was out of the question. But proxy wars had ever been an acceptable substitute and in this technological age, it was no longer necessary to risk advisers in the poor countries, just let them house the machinery of war.

Into this world of near perfect peace and wealth came the stranger, Baskerville, and his young associate offering time travel technology to the highest paying government. They could use the power on offer to unlock humanity's evolution and take Earth up to the next level of evolution.

Or it could be used as the ultimate First Strike weapon.

You pays your money and took your choice…

Into this mess came the Doctor, Fitz and Anji

Anji's suffering from a form of culture shock; they are barely ahead of her own time after all and yet it was so different. Fitz just admired the local beach fashions and a trip to a local bar enabled him to find out who the new warriors were…

Meanwhile, the Doctor's off being James Bond and it's when he recovers a mysterious briefcase that the intrepid trio become aware of the Time Traveller's offer. Eager to do something other than feel sorry for herself Anji became the Doctor's agent. But unknown to the Doctor and his companions, the Time Traveller is being stalked by folk whose purpose it was to eliminate all rogue travellers in the time lines — and we mean ALL time travellers!

And let's not forget about that alien fleet that's floating above the planet.

Or the strange items coming out of those automated factory in Russia.

What is currently a cold war is rapidly spiralling into the all-out catastrophe of all-out thermonuclear war.

Can the Doctor, complete with holes in his memory, stop the Great Powers and save the Earth?
