Hunter's Moon

Paul Finch

2011

In 'Hunter's Moon' we get a more traditional science fiction style novel than is usual in Who.

The Doctor and his Companions find themselves in an area of space that's pretty law abiding in general but Leisure Platform 9 is home to all sorts of scum and lowlifes, not all of whom belong to the local crime syndicates.

When Rory is taken prisoner after refusing to hand over the TARDIS after losing in rigged craps game Amy complains to the local cops who refuse to help so she decides to stow away on the gang's spaceship.

Meanwhile the Doctor is catching up with an old friend who's now the local head policeman and not feeling too happy with the way he couldn't prosecute and sees the presence of the Doctor as a way to shake things up.

But as the plans of the gang are revealed, it becomes ever less likely the Doctor, his companions or the shanghaied humans will survive.
