Amorality Tale

David Bishop

2002

At UNIT headquarters, there are no alien invaders to be thrown off the planet, the Time Lords didn't want the Doctor to go anywhere to clear up one of their messes so the Doctor was feeling rather bored until Sarah Jane gave him a picture of himself exchanging handshakes with a gangster notorious in the early fifties. Sarah Jane wondered over the co-incidence that thousands of inhabitants of London had died that year in one of London's infamous smogs but the Doctor dismissed that. His interest was piqued by the distortion in the church behind them though.

So it's off to nineteen fifties London.

In the Shoreditch area of London, Tommy Ramsey is busily re-establishing his control after a stretch inside but it would appear that the new clockmaker was having nothing of the 'insurance' men that he sent round. Meanwhile, the young woman who had just started working at his club, particularly when she shows herself less than enthralled with him, takes Tommy's interest. As she gets to know Tommy better, Sarah Jane begins to like the mobster but there are other gangsters out there and Tommy shows his true colours as he has to fight for his territory.

But not all of Tommy's enemies are human and some of those play dirty as Sarah finds out that spin doctoring is not just a late twentieth century phenomena.

Can the Doctor keep control of the situation, as the smog grows deeper?
