Robert Silverberg

Mr Silverberg began his writing career while studying for a BA at Columbia University and his first story was published in 1954 with his first novel following a year later. He picked up speed in 1956 and has barely slowed down since :-).

He has written under a number of pseudonyms, the most important ones being

Mr Silverberg has written many fantasy and science fiction stories. Most recently his most famous story sequence has been the history of Majipoor, a gigantic planet colonised by many races, though humans are the majority race (maybe). However, he has also written Alternate History, and Time Travel stories.

He contributes a regular column to the science fiction magazine Asimov's Science Fiction.
