Donald Kingsbury was born in San Francisco and is an American-Canadian. He taught mathematics at McGill University, Montreal between 1956 and 1986, which saw his retirement.
As well as books set in his own universes, he has written for the Man-Kzin war series and a novel that is very loosely set in a mileau not too different from Asimov's Foundation.
