The Stars Like Dus

1955

Despite it's reputation as the birth-place of Humanity, Earth was a poor relation to the many planets throughout the Galaxy. Biron Farrill was a student on the planet of Earth and he hated it! Hated the architecture; hated the radiation filled death that was the penalty for carelessness on the surface; hated the reverence the people of Earth held for the dead past.

What he liked was the freedom from the Tyrann Overlords who ruled his home worlds of the Horsehead Nebula and he was willing to endure Earth in order to recover a lost artefact that was said to have the power to overthrow the Tyrannid horde. And to learn how to pilot a starship.

Unfortunately he finds himself too late. Twenty years too late!

More unfortunately still, he finds another believes he is still in with a chance of fulfilling his mission; he finds his room the target of a radiation bomb. This is not considered a joke by either himself or the Earth authorities when it was found to be fake.

When he finally received a message saying his father had died, he immediately rushes off home to appeal to the puppet leader of his homeland.

But just who is manipulating whom?
